Admins can relate to every page in this book. Give and Take by Adam Grant is a freaking brilliant book which highlights why being service focused is a path to long term success. As admins we literally help others as our profession. Grant dives into stories of successful givers and how and why it can lead to great personal satisfaction. Highly recommended.
This book explains why we behave the way we do in terms of community and belonging and how it interprets our actions. “In Social, renowned psychologist Matthew Lieberman explores groundbreaking research in social neuroscience revealing that our need to connect with other people is even more fundamental, more basic, than our need for food or shelter. Because of this, our brain uses its spare time to learn about the social world–other people and our relation to them. It is believed that we must commit 10,000 hours to master a skill. According to Lieberman, each of us has spent 10,000 hours learning to make sense of people and groups by the time we are ten.”
I cannot say enough wonderful things about Canva, they do have a subscription service but in my opinion the free version is usually enough. There are lots of resume templates but if you use one, try to keep it simple and classy.
There are also free images and layouts you can use and premium images at very affordable pricing, however you likely won’t even need them. There are fab templates for documents, social media posts, presentations and more.
